Training in old age
Training in old age is often incorrectly labeled as health training. Just because you reach a certain age, this does not necessarily mean you “just” want to be fit. My oldest customer, for example, was 87 years old. His aim was to gain felxibility in order to rinse his feet with soap in the shower. Another customer in my studio is 73 years old and runs every day for 3-4 hours on a road bike on the island and then comes into the studio for muscle training. Yet another customer who is 72 years old plays golf for 2 hours on a daily basis.
You can tell that the objectives and performance are totally different. So you should understand that an exercise is not “age appropriate” but merely “individually” tailored to their goals and desires.
The human body is a fascinating machine. It is able to adapt to all situations. If you go walking more often the body increases its lung volume and improves heart function. Unfortunately, as age goes by the metabolic rate can be decreased and after you lose lean muscle mass.
About sports, you can build the muscles back by diet efficiency and quality of life. Get back to its previous performance or increase their current level to a Never-before experienced.
Increase your quality of life and well-being. Enjoy old age. You deserve it!
